Through Gentle Eyes FEBRUARY 27–MAY 28, 2018
Oil on canvas — a study of strength and stillness.

The elephant, ancient and patient, stands between shadow and light. Its presence reminds us that gentleness can endure even the heaviest burdens.

A Brushstroke of Light

Welcome to Paintings by Jo — a space where color tells stories, emotion finds form, and each painting becomes a quiet conversation between myself and the world around me.

My work explores the delicate balance between strength and sensitivity — the shimmer of light through trees, the stillness of reflection, and the hidden beauty woven into everyday moments. My paintings are both intimate and expansive, echoing nature’s rhythm and the quiet pulse of human feeling beneath it all.

I’m endlessly fascinated by the way light transforms everything it touches — how it softens, reveals, and sometimes hides what we think we know. In every piece I create, I try to capture that fleeting moment when the ordinary becomes extraordinary, when stillness turns luminous.

Each painting is not just an image, but a reflection of how I see the world — and an invitation for you to see it with me.

Featured Collection — Wild Grace

My latest collection is a tribute to the living pulse of Africa — a journey across sunlit savannas, quiet watering holes, and the untamed beauty that breathes beneath vast skies.

I try not only to capture the form of the animals, but their spirit — the calm wisdom in an elephant’s gaze, the quiet strength of a rhino, the fleeting grace of a bird rising over the plains. Each brushstroke carries warmth and reverence, blending realism with emotion.

The landscapes I paint are alive with movement and memory — golden grasses swaying in the wind, reflections rippling across still water, distant horizons that seem to hum with life. Together, they speak of connection: between nature and soul, between what we see and what we feel.

Through these works, I hope to invite you to pause, breathe, and rediscover a world where beauty is both powerful and fragile — a reminder that the wild still whispers to those who listen.
